Bellevue is located south of Ketchum with a population of 2,200+ residents and features a historic district that is recorded on the National Register of Historic Places.
Bellevue was settled in 1882 and began as a mining town with over $60 million worth of silver, lead and gold produced. Years later with the decline of silver and mining activity, local residents left while others stayed due to family roots. Fortunately, agriculture was an element that held the town together until the Sun Valley Resort nearby had opened in 1936. From there, tourism, construction and overall economic health began to prosper and grow into what Bellevue has become today.
