“What good is the warmth of Summer, without the cold of Winter to give it sweetness.” – John Steinbeck |
As we head into the holidays and new year, I like to remember what Valentine Davies said in Miracle on 34th Street, “Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind”. To me that means we should live every day with a focus on giving, and reflection upon all in our Lives for which we can be grateful. Whether that means giving quality time to those we Love and care about, giving a smile to a stranger, giving patience and understanding in those moments that are busier, more crowded, more hectic and more stressful than usual, or by giving to those who may not be as fortunate as we are – whether by volunteering, sharing our resources, or donating material possessions; and doing so with an attitude based in gratitude. With gratitude and humility, my family and I wish you and yours a wonderful, safe and healthy holiday and new year – may you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve. |
